Truxton Extreme is set to release on July 30, 2026, marking the first new entry in the Truxton series in 38 years. The original Truxton launched in 1988 as a vertically scrolling shooter developed by Toaplan and published by Taito. Truxton Extreme is now fully rendered in 3D while preserving the series' iconic design, and the story mode follows three characters through a narrative told using an animated manga style comic. Original composer Masahiro Yuge returns to score the game. Besides the Story mode, the game includes Arcade, Team co-op, a score-attack Arena, Training, Tutorial, and a Model Viewer for checking out defeated enemies.

Chuckie Egg 3
Chuckie Egg 3 is a brand new 2026 release from Langford Productions, available now on PC through itch.io. It's a follow up to the ZX Spectrum original Chuckie Egg, and rather than continuing the adventure style approach used in Chuckie Egg 2, it goes back to the fast paced arcade feel of the first game.
You're playing as Henhouse Harry, a part time farmhand whose job this time is collecting and painting eggs before Easter. Across each level you'll find unpainted eggs scattered around that will stun Harry if he bumps into them, so the goal is to load up a paintbrush, paint the eggs, grab them before they turn back to plain eggs, and get them into the lorry for payment.
The game is free to download, with an option to pay what you feel is fair to support the developer.
In this video we're playing through it with full commentary, since that's what this channel is all about, sitting down with new and classic games and talking through them as we go.
If you're new here, this is exactly the kind of content you'll find more of, so stick around and subscribe for more gameplay and commentary on both new indie releases and retro classics.

Mini Doom II
Mini Doom II is a fan-made game by Calavera Studio, developed with Manuel Soruco, Felipe Porcel, and JC Porcel, that turns Doom into a 2D side-scrolling platformer instead of a first-person shooter. It first launched in March 2018 and later received an "Eternal" update in 2020 that added new weapons and skins pulled from Doom Eternal. The game includes 17 levels and 2 bosses, more than 14 weapons spanning multiple Doom titles plus additional secret weapons, 5 difficulty levels, and 4 game modes. The soundtrack runs over 40 minutes and includes original metal tracks along with renditions of the classic "At Doom's Gate" theme. On itch.io, the game currently holds a 4.8 out of 5 star rating from 190 ratings, and it's available for both Windows and macOS.

Atic Atac 3D
Atic Atac is the kind of game that gets under your skin and stays there. Released in 1983 by Ultimate Play the Game, the company that would later become Rare, this ZX Spectrum action adventure was programmed by Tim Stamper with graphics handled by his brother Chris Stamper. It was actually the trading name of their company, Ashby Computers and Graphics, that inspired the ACG key at the heart of the game's entire objective. That detail alone tells you how much personality was baked into this thing from the start.
The original game required 48K of RAM, which made it one of Ultimate's more ambitious early releases on the Spectrum. You pick one of three characters: a Knight, a Wizard, or a Serf, and each one has access to a different set of secret passages through the castle, meaning the route you take changes entirely depending on who you pick. The goal is to collect all three parts of the Golden Key of ACG and use them to escape through the main door. Monsters fill every room, and your health, represented visually by a roasting chicken that slowly decays, is always ticking down. Crash magazine named it Game of the Month and Sinclair User ranked it number seven in their Top 50 Spectrum Software Classics.
In this video we are playing Atic Atac 3D, the fan-made Windows remake by Stephen Smith, available on itch.io. It rebuilds the original room by room in full 3D while keeping the original sounds, secret passages, and character differences completely intact. There is full commentary throughout, covering the history of the original game, what makes this remake work so well, and how it holds up today.
Atic Atac was also credited as a direct inspiration for the television show Knightmare, and the original was included in Rare Replay on Xbox One in 2015. That is a legacy that very few 8-bit games can match.
If you are new here, welcome. This channel covers retro gaming with real commentary, not just footage. Subscribe and hit the bell so you don't miss what's coming next.

Vampire Crawlers
Vampire Crawlers just dropped on April 21, 2026, and the gaming world was not ready for it. This is the first ever official spinoff of Vampire Survivors, co-developed by poncle and Nosebleed Interactive, and it takes everything that made Survivors a phenomenon and flips the genre completely on its head.
Instead of the hands-off auto-battling of the original, Vampire Crawlers is a turn-based, first-person dungeon crawler built around roguelike deck-building. You pick a Crawler, each of whom starts with a different base deck designed around specific weapons and abilities, then plunge into multi-floor dungeons exploring from a first-person viewpoint that feels like a nod to the early days of computer RPGs. Every encounter you win earns experience points. Level up and you draft a new card into your deck. Headbutt a chest and you might find power-ups, gold, gems, or healing items. Find the shovel and you dig down to the next floor.
The card system is built around playing cards in ascending mana order to chain devastating combos, where each card in the stack multiplies the impact of the next. Use Wild cards to push those chains out to 10, 20, or even 30 cards deep. Weapon evolutions from Vampire Survivors carry over here too, so if you know the original game, that knowledge transfers directly.
Crawlers hit one million players in its first week. On Steam, it currently sits at Overwhelmingly Positive with 95% of over 7,400 English reviews recommending it. Critics scored it between 82 and 89 on Metacritic depending on platform, and 93% of critics on OpenCritic recommend it. Destructoid gave it a 9 out of 10.
In today's video I am playing through Vampire Crawlers on PC with full gameplay commentary, breaking down how the dungeon crawling works, how the deck builds, and where the chaos really starts to kick in. If you are new to the channel, welcome, we play all kinds of games here with commentary and honest reactions. Hit subscribe so you do not miss what is coming next.
Sol Cresta
Sol Cresta is one of those games that deserved far more attention than it got, and that is exactly why it is on this channel. Released on 22nd February 2022 for Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, and Steam, Sol Cresta was developed and published by PlatinumGames and serves as the concluding chapter in a franchise that began with Moon Cresta in arcades in 1980 and continued with Terra Cresta in 1985.
The game was directed by Takanori Sato, who previously led The Wonderful 101: Remastered, with Hideki Kamiya serving as creative director and story writer. Kamiya is known for Devil May Cry, Okami, Viewtiful Joe, and Bayonetta, and Sol Cresta marks the first title in PlatinumGames' own Neo-Classic Arcade series, a brand built around reviving the spirit of classic gaming with modern development. The soundtrack was composed by Yuzo Koshiro, one of the most respected names in game music, known for Streets of Rage, Actraiser, and Etrian Odyssey. Koshiro blended his own sound with the FM and PSG conventions of the original Terra Cresta score to create something that sits between homage and original composition. The full soundtrack was released as a physical 2-disc CD through Sweep Record.
The story is set in Cosmic Year 101. A robotic army known as the Mandler has seized control of the solar system, and humanity's only hope is the Yamato, a docking fighter made up of three individual ships named Amaterasu, Tsukuyomi, and Susano. The way these three ships combine, split apart, and reform mid-fight is the entire foundation of how Sol Cresta plays. Different formations unlock different attacks, and choosing when to split and when to dock is the core of what keeps the game engaging from start to finish.
The rights to the Cresta IP were held by Hamster Corporation, and Hideki Kamiya personally approached Hamster president Satoshi Hamada to secure permission to develop Sol Cresta. Hamada agreed immediately, and the two companies worked together throughout development. A physical edition was produced in partnership with Limited Run Games, with pre-orders running from February to March 2022. A Dramatic DLC was also released, adding a fully voiced story scenario written by Kamiya himself.
In this video we play through Sol Cresta with full commentary, covering the action as it unfolds and pointing out what makes this game worth your time. This channel covers retro-inspired and classic gaming across multiple platforms, always with live commentary and genuine enthusiasm for games that earn it.

New Railly X
Today we return to New Railly X, a new AI powered game released in 2026 inspired by the classic arcade maze driving formula made famous by Rally-X.
The original Rally-X was released by Namco in 1980 and became one of the early arcade games to feature a radar system showing the position of enemies and objectives on the map. The goal was to drive through maze-style levels collecting flags while avoiding enemy cars.
New Railly X takes inspiration from that arcade design while introducing an AI-driven version of the concept, bringing a modern twist to a style of gameplay that helped define early arcade gaming.
In this video we return to the game and attempt to push the score as high as possible while navigating the maze and collecting points.

New Railly X
New Railly X is a 2026 Windows PC release inspired by Namco’s 1981 arcade title New Rally-X. While it draws clear inspiration from the original maze based driving and flag collecting formula, New Railly X is an AI created project, built using artificial intelligence tools to reimagine the classic arcade experience for modern players.
The gameplay keeps the core mechanics that made New Rally-X iconic, including maze navigation, enemy car avoidance, fuel management, and strategic route planning. However, New Railly X presents these ideas through a newly generated structure and design approach driven by AI assisted development.
In this video you get full Windows PC gameplay with live commentary.
